Information the main fighters

As the reigning champion of the UFC light heavyweight division, Jiri Prochazka was forced to relinquish his title due to a shoulder injury. He now finds himself on the sidelines, observing as others contend for the championship he never truly lost. The upcoming UFC 283 will see Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill engage in a highly-anticipated match for the vacant title, taking place in Teixeira’s native home of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Teixeira, a seasoned veteran of the sport with a professional debut dating back to 2002, previously held the light heavyweight title in 2021, but lost it to Prochazka in 2022. The two were set to have a rematch at UFC 282 prior to Prochazka’s injury. On the other hand, Hill, a Dana White’s Contender Series alum, has been making a steady rise in the division, currently on a three-fight winning streak with his last victory coming in the form of a TKO against Thiago Santos in August. The stage is set for a captivating showdown as these two fighters vie for the coveted light heavyweight championship.
